Valentine’s Day Gift Guide: Pet Portraits

Ok, let’s talk about pet portraits. Personally, I have a wall in my home dedicated to various artistic renderings of my dog, Cosmo. I know I “subtly” send my partner links to amazing pet portrait artists. So here’s my breakdown of my favorite ones for your own not-so-subtle Valentine.

Before I jump in, here’s a tip: if your Valentine is picky, book the artist, and then let your Valentine pick the photo for the artist to recreate. Ready to dive in? Here we go!

Dani Ives

THIS IS EMBROIDERY!! The detail is downright stunning.

Cindy McDonough

I’m a sucker for watercolor #swoon

Nina Chidichimo

Beautiful ink drawings

Andrea Cáceres

These are so much fun!

Olivia Cody

I love Olivia’s work so much, I commissioned her to do a special portrait of Cosmo in outer space! Charcoal is one of my favorite mediums, and she is seriously skilled.

Wild Masterpieces

Does your Valentine have a good sense of humor? Maybe Wild Masterpieces is more their style. At the very least, follow Wild Masterpieces on Instagram. It will make your day!

Emily LeMoine

Every painting of hers makes me squee. She makes everyone look so cute!

Elizabeth Reid

If oil paintings are more your style, check out Elizabeth Reid’s work:

Stephen John Edwards

If you want a full on above-the-mantle type oil masterpiece check out Stephen John Edwards.

Ben Lenovitz

I’m a big fan of these goofy portraits!

Michele Cahill

Finally, if you want to paint a masterpiece yourself, check out Michele Cahill’s events. You send her a photo a week before, and she traces your dog. Then you come to her event and she guides you through the process.

Valentine’s Day is fast approaching! Go forth and impress your Valentine by booking with one of these artists!
