Bring-your-dog-to-work day may not seem like an often-celebrated holiday, but it’s been proven to be good to bring your pet to the office. According to a recent survey from Wellness Natural Pet Food, 51 percent of millennial pet parents say they would consider a career change for a pet friendly workplace, and 37 percent of pet parents would sacrifice benefits—think vacation time, work-from-home days—if their company would become pet-friendly. These results were part of its larger initative to find the most pepet-friendlyorkplaces and organizations in the country.
Turns out the top spot goes to…wait for it…Tito’s Handmade Vodka. The Austin-based company has a slew of benefits any puppy owner would ascribe to including allowing dogs in the office and regular participation in animal-related charities with its Vodka For Dog People program. What’s more, during the early years of the company, Tito’s took in abandoned animals that wandered around its distillery—so it’s no surprise the pet owners bring their furry friends to the office on the regular.
“Allowing pets in the office offers employees a fun way to bring their full attention to work while giving our furry friends companionship they might not otherwise have during the workday,” said Dr. Danielle Bernal, Staff Veterinarian for Wellness Natural Pet Food. “Last year, we started celebrating companies that offer this benefit year-round and wanted to continue to recognize offices with pet parent perks. Hopefully we inspire others to implement their own pet-friendly policies so more pets and their parents can enjoy the rewards of dogs in the workplace.”
