The Ultimate Basset Hound Party!

This is a sponsored post from Hush Puppies.

Hi Friends! Hank the Basset here to tell you about the paw-tay of the season! Hush Puppies had their 60th Anniversary Celebration at the rooftop of the Viceroy Hotel in NYC, and they invited me and some basset hound friends from the Tri-State Basset Hound Rescue to join them.

At first I was little apprehensive, because, you know, short legs and stairs… But luckily they had an elevator! At the top of the hotel we were greeted by amazing views of New York, a bunch of fashionable New York guests and, always most importantly for a basset hound, fantastic food! Hush Puppies thought of everything for us in the way of refreshment and treats. They even gave all of the guests a new pair of Hush Puppies shoes from the Fall/Winter 2018 collection. Mine didn’t fit, but the humans sure did enjoy theirs. It was totally over the top!

Hosting can be a stressful experience but it sure wasn’t my experience. Together with the guests we all embraced the spirit of the basset hound, comfortably lounging in the rooftop sun with plenty of nibbles and treats. Better yet, the tables were all short which made the food more accessible for us vertically challenged attendees. Needless to say, I think everyone quickly learned a valuable lesson to not to leave food unattended around a group of bassets.

In between mingling with the guests and candid photos for the paw-parazzi, Greg Tunney, the new Brand President for Hush Puppies, gave a Hush Puppies state of the union address to brief us on our namesake brand. I believe I speak for all Bassets when I say that I’m truly impressed. Did you know that over 17 million pairs of hush puppies are sold annually in more than 165 countries worldwide? There are a lot of stylish, comfy feet out there! With their fun and casual approach to footwear, I can’t imagine a better brand for us to represent as basset hounds.

After cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, the basset team led a leisurely stroll through central park to catch some of the sights and smells of the city. Being the middle of July, it was certainly hot so we bassets didn’t make it too far but we sure made the most of it. I even got to walk Greg, my first time walking a President! I don’t think that Central Park has ever seen so many basset hounds at one time. In the big city, we Hush Puppies ambassadors were definitely the big stars that day.

When the walk ended, we celebrated back at the roof with more treats and cupcakes!

Who knew hosting a party could be so much fun?!
