NYC’s First Dog Cafe

It’s real. It’s happening. All my dreams are coming true. There’s a new cafe coming to New York. But it’s not just any cafe. It’s a DOG CAFE. This is the best thing to happen to this city since the cronut.

This magical place is set to open up in the East Village (East 12th Street and Avenue A to be exact) later this year. The cafe, named Boris & Horton, will serve coffee, wine, food, and plenty of puppy snuggles.

While this dog cafe does sound amazing, it’s not exactly perfect. Boris & Horton won’t be supplying any dogs of their own, they’re just simply opening up a dog-friendly space. And to comply with health regulations, the dogs are only allowed in a specific area, separate from the food.

But have no fear. Even with the minor speed bumps, it sounds like this place is going to be pretty amazing. Dog owners and non-dog owners alike can enjoy this chill hangout spot and get some quality time with some canine companions.

“It’s like basically going to someone’s nice living room with your dog, and it’s adjacent to a place where you can get all your food and coffee,” Coppy Holzman, the owner of Boris & Horton, told DNAInfo. “What we found is, a lot of people like dogs and because of their circumstances can’t have one—so this is a dog-friendly place.”
