Mondays with Reese Lightning

Let’s face it, Mondays are ruff.

I know what you are thinking. “You are just a small dog. What could you possibly know about the Monday blues?!” But listen, I have lived through quite a few Mondays in my time, and I am here to offer some advice.

Make sure you get a full night’s rest on Sunday night. Actually, why don’t you just spend all of Sunday resting – you deserve this! And if you can relax in the company of your very best friends – do it!

Let a nice, warm beverage be the only thing that wakes you up on Monday.

… not someone’s bad breath.

Spend a few minutes in front of the mirror telling yourself how wonderful you are.

“You is smart. You is kind. You is important.”

Before you go outside to do your morning business, make sure you look your best. You never know who else might be outside doing their business, too – and first impressions are important!

Eat a healthy breakfast.

Get some exercise and practice your downward dog. Stretch, breathe, eat a treat, repeat.

If you have a human, look lovingly into their eyes and wish them a happy day.

Once you see them out, turn around and run as fast as you can to the sofa.

Spend the next 8-9 hours watching cat videos on the Internet, and only get up for snacks and bathroom breaks.

When you hear the front door open at the end of the day, greet your human with a kiss and take them for a walk.

While your human prepares dinner, sit on the floor in the middle of the kitchen and stare at them. Maybe bark a few times. They will most likely share their food with you if you do this long enough.

If they don’t share their dinner with you, just get on the counter and help yourself.

It’s now time to Netflix. You have so many TV shows to binge on!

Congratulations. You just survived another Monday.
