The only thing better than one dog is a bunch of dogs. So when we heard about a gathering of 576 dogs, we were blown away. Apparently, it all went down in Adelaide, Australia and it was absolutely amazing.
These weren’t just any dogs, either. This giant get-together was just for border collies in an effort to break the world record for largest gathering. Their goal was to beat the previous number of 534, which they easily surpassed.
Although the Guinness Book of World Records doesn’t officially recognize breed-specific records, the Border Collie Owners of South Australia (BCOSA) did confirm that this is the largest gathering on record.
All of this came together to support a good cause. The BCOSA charged each owner $5 to participate, and they raised over $6,000 in total. All of these funds will go towards three different dog charities: Scruffer Lovers, Guardian Angel and SA Dog Rescue.
