We’ve seen dogs take on all kinds of disasters, animals, and even missing-persons situations in order to protect their owners. Most recently, a sweet Golden Retriever named Todd from Arizona saved his owner from a real live rattlesnake, according to Life With Dogs TV.
Todd and his owner, Paula Godwin, were out for a hike when Todd spotted a rattlesnake on the trail and, as man’s best friend would, put himself between the snake and Godwin. And although Todd saved his mama from any injuries, he suffered from a snake bite to his face. But thankfully, Godwin rushed him to the vet in under ten minutes, where Todd was treated immediately for his snakebite, according to local TV station KPHO-TV.
Godwin turned to Facebook to share the story of her pup. She posted a photo of Todd with his bite, captioning the photo, “This is what a hero looks like.”
And the good news is that Todd is recovering: Godwin posted an update regarding Todd’s health on July 1 and again only July 2, thanking all the well-wishers for their support and amazed at how well the Golden Retriever was healing.
Just try not to fall in love with Todd. He’s just more proof that dog is really man’s best friend.
