Popsicles come in so many different varieties, each one providing its own version of refreshment. There are plastic freeze pops, rainbow pops, fruit bars, double pops, fudge pops, and now….pupsicles. Our precious pooches deserve to enjoy some icy refreshment, too, so here are some easy recipes for you to make your own yummy pupsicles.
For the fruit-loving fido
Ingredients:
- 1 ripe banana
- 4 cups orange juice
- 1/2 cup plain yogurt
Put all the ingredients in a blender and purée until smooth. Carefully fill an ice cube tray with the mixture and freeze overnight. Pop out the cubes and let your pup enjoy.

For the savory slurper
Ingredients:
- 16 oz low-sodium chicken broth
- Small cubes of hard cheese
Place the cubes of cheese in the bottom of each ice cube tray section. Fill the tray with chicken broth and freeze overnight. If your pup needs a salty treat, watch them go crazy for these little cubes.

For the peanut butter-obsessed pup
Ingredients:
- 1 cup unsalted, unsweetened peanut butter
- 1/2 of a ripe banana
- Water as needed
Mash the peanut butter and banana together in a bowl. Add water as need to make it easier to mix and scoop. Spoon the mixture into an ice cube tray and freeze overnight. Your peanut butter-obsessed pup will absolutely love these frozen treats.

When it comes to pupsicles, the possibilities are endless. Just keep in mind a few tips on safety: avoid choking hazards by keeping the sticks out of your pupsicles, don’t let your dog eat too many, and avoid harmful ingredients (like onions, salt, grapes, and avocados).
