Artist Stephen Eichhorn has a thing for collages. He makes beautiful works of art by combining different bits and pieces together to create one finished piece. Since 2008, he has been making some pretty unique pieces combing some surprising subjects: cats and plants.

“There was a quirkiness and humour to the still life compositions of the house plants that the cat photos shared,” he told The Guardian. “It made sense to combine them.”

Eichhorn just published his first book, Cats & Plants. It features the works seen in this article, plus many others that he has created over the past decade.

When asked about his creative process, he said “there’s usually something about the expression or pose of the cat that dictates the direction of the collage. The collage-making itself is very spontaneous.”

If you or someone you know is into felines and palm fronds, Cats & Plants might just be the perfect coffee table book.
