Nobody really enjoys advertisements. We all put up with it to enjoy our favorite shows or websites. But there is one type of advertisement that I actually don’t mind: commercials with cute animals. Even if it’s still kind of annoying, at least there’s a cute little critter to distract me.
One campaign from the Ad Council is a great example. They’ve created a series of commercials to warn people who are at risk of developing diabetes that they should seek help. They make it interesting by putting adorable animals in the background. Take a look:
Look at all those perfect hedgies! They definitely got my attention and I kept watching because I just wanted to see what these spiky friends were going to do next. Here’s the next spot in the campaign:
Oh my puppies! So many of them. Just look at those little frenchie faces and the cutest little pink ears you ever did see. Still can’t get enough? Here’s the last spot:
Yep, those are baby goats. But they’re not just any baby goats. They’re baby goats in pajamas. So amazing.
Another great job of incorporating adorable animals was the New York Lottery. We all know that winning the lottery is great, but this commercial puts a really nice spin on it.
Tell me that slow motion basset isn’t the best thing you’ve seen all day and I’ll say you’re lying. All of the dogs are cute to begin with, and they’re even cuter at half speed.
So whatever you are advertising, it always helps to have an adorable animal. They make people pay attention, no matter the message. All commercials could benefit from just a little more puppy love.
