We’ve said it once and we will say it again: everything is better with dogs. And it looks like some very smart people at a hotel in Australia agree with us. Instead of your typical concierge at the Park Hyatt Melbourne, the hotel has hired a very special canine concierge by the name of Mr. Walker.
Mr. Walker’s official title is Canine Ambassador, which he earned when he was hired by the company in July. Since then, Mr. Walker has taken his job very seriously. He greets and accompanies guests as they enter the hotel and is an important member in many client meetings. Guests who encounter him are encouraged to share a photo with #BarkHyattMelbourne.
This friendly furry employee was trained extensively by Guide Dogs Victoria before starting his career. Although he was originally meant to be a guide dog, his affectionate personality made him better suited for the hospitality industry. As he helps out around the hotel, he also helps spread the word about the Guide Dogs Victoria organization.
To further support this organization and their adorable mascot, the hotel has created special Mr. Walker stuffed animals that guests can purchase. All the proceeds go to support Guide Dogs Victoria and all the wonderful work that they do.
So whether he’s following guests around the halls or doing yoga out on the deck, Mr. Walker has a wide range of responsibilities. This Labrador retriever has a lot to do, but he always looks good doing it.
