National Dog Day is for pups of all shapes and sizes, but it’s especially important for rescue dogs. This day was founded in order to raise awareness about the importance of rescuing and encourage people to look at shelters before pet stores.
How can you celebrate? You can start by giving all the pats to your canine companion. If you want to take it a step further, you can donate to local shelters. Any sort of donation helps, whether that comes in the form of time, money, or supplies.
Rescue and adoption organizations are so essential because they help find homes for otherwise unwanted dogs. Every single dog is worthy of love and a loving home, and these groups help make that happen.
